Happy Wednesday!!!!
It has been a long week and it is only Wednesday. So much has been going on over here. Hmmm...where to begin! Well besides being sick since last Tuesday and attending a funeral it really hasn't been a happy past week! But on a better note, Spring has arrived! It has been warm, sunny and all the plants are a blooming! I have been out doing yard work for days hoping the sun will help my congestion..but no luck :( What kind of freak form of virus do I have? Blah!

One Thing I got accomplished was this terrarium. I had been hunting around looking for the perfect jar to house my little cacti! I think this one works pretty well! Now it's home is the center of my dining room table! I love it!! I think I may even make another!

Because yesterday was Earth day I thought I may share a little bit of things I do to try to make less waste around my house. I recycle all of my cans, glass, plastic, magazines and newspapers. I am also starting a small compost heap in my backyard to further cut down our trash. We use cloth napkins and dish towels instead of paper napkins and paper towels. And I recently started a "no waste" policy in my studio! I keep all scrap fabric to use in patch work projects or just small projects. I also re-use all the fabric, zipper, and thread cut offs by shredding them and making them into filler for pillows, pincushions, and sachets! Ok enough about me, I would love to hear any great ideas, and or things that you and your family do to recycle and re-use! Please post them in the comments below :)

Have a lovely day!

What a day at the Auction!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! On Saturday we went to a local Auction. It was so much fun! There were so many wonderful finds just waiting for a new home :) Husband and I went with a budget in mind. This way we did not go crazy and buy a bunch of stuff we did not need. Generally we are pretty good about not buying to much stuff. The auction was on a huge farm and it was beautiful! They were even auctioning pigs! This was only my 2nd auction ever, so it was pretty exciting. We did mange to pick up some lovely new pieces of furniture!
When I walked into the first barn, there sat this desk! I fell in love with it the second I saw it! I waited around forever until they were ready to auction it off! And to my surprise we won!! It was a steal for only $47.50!! It is now made its home in our dining room as a side board!
I love it!
♥♥

We also swiped up these to lovelies! The black rocker isn't that old, but was in near perfect condition and matches our dining room :) It also was only $30! I also could not leave without this cute as can be little thatched chair! It needed a good home and a good cleaning! My son loves it and it was only $15! You can go wrong for that!

Well sweets I best get back to work...Lots of painting, gardening and paneling removal in my future! Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

Hello Thursday!
As many of you know I am in the middle of fixing up my new home.
So I have been searching the Internet and stores for the perfect decor additions that make me swoon. It was harder then it sounds. Many places are just not my style. I generally enjoy antiques more than new items (I guess that may be my problem). I think a good mix between modern and vintage is what I am looking for in a style.

Here are some things I found in my scouring that if I ever win the lotto I will own!
Above is a simple vintage inspired bed frame. I would love to find one that is "vintage", but I guess this is the next best thing :) I found it on the Raymour & Flanigans site so it is easily accessible to everyone and pretty affordable.
Ok, the next thing I need is a chandelier for my dining room. I have a black colonial style dining table with black chairs. I really like the simplicity of this and it is extremely affordable! Soon I hope to bring this baby home with me (once we start the dining room). This one is available at Home depot where I have been spending most of my weekends :( I can't wait until we are at the decorating stage in our renovation! It is killing me not being able to hang pictures on the walls!!!

Now this is the frosting on the cake! I have been dreaming about this rug! I love it so! But unfortunately it is WAY to expensive for me! But it is so beautiful!! It is prefect for my living room because my walls will be that exact fern green, and my molding chocolate brown! It is made by Avalisa
I also love deers so this is the perfect blend of my insanity. I guess I should start playing the lotto or hope I become famous :)

I would love to hear about any really cool home decor anyone has found out there? So drop me a comment with a link to your dream home finds!!
Have a wonderful Thursday lovelies

Its Wednesday my dears!
I love when it is the middle of the week and the weekend seems right around the corner. Today the weather man said is suppose to be beautiful outside! I really hope it is because I would like to get some more yard work done. Dreadfully I must say our yard is not a pretty site! The last owners did not take care of the poor thing and there is garbage, rocks, and dead spots everywhere! So with rake in hand I hope to enjoy some sun today :)
As of lately I have been obsessed with pincushions!! I have no idea why, but I am. So here is a sneak peek of some little cushions I have been working on. The one above is my favorite! It was made from some vintage screen printed linen I had stowed away. The colors are beautiful! The buttons are also vintage, and the colors amazing! I still haven't decided if I will give this one up or not :)
Below is the next cushion I made! This one is my 2nd favorite :) It is also made from vintage screen printed fabric I found at an antique store last year! It has a nautical theme with sharks, lighthouses, houses, boats and birds. The buttons are also vintage from the 1950's. I am still not sure if I am going to leave this one as is or embellish it some more? Hmmm, I guess I will have to think about it some more!

Before I head off to cleaning and laundry (yuck). I will share a cute little order I had from a sweet as can be lady from Texas! Three mini coin purses in a sushi theme! I fell in love with how adorable they came out!! Maybe the shop will have some sushi in the future :)
Have a lovely day everyone!

Happy Thursday!

Thanks goodness the week is almost over :) It has been too busy around here and I have been feeling a bit under the weather. I think I have been just running myself ragged. Lots of new opportunities for the shop, and fixing up the house has given me no free time. Not that I am complaining, but one does need a little down time here and there :) Hubby has already started dreaming of vacation. That silly boy!

Spring is almost here and I can't wait any longer! I dream about going to the garden center to get lots of flowers and trees to plant in my yard! It is going to be so exciting to have my "own" yard to plant whatever I want!!!
Above is a new pouch not yet listed in the shop..so it is kind of a sneak peek :) It will be part of the Rural Minimalist series . I really enjoy making bags for this series.
I guess I should be off. I have to finish priming my sons bedroom today , and hopefully it will be warm enough for some yard work!
Stay lovely!
