The Crazy weekend

This weekend was kind of a insane and idea filled. I did manage to start a new collection in my shop called "Via Air Mail". I have been gathering fabrics and sketching ideas for this line for a while now. I have to say that I am pretty proud of it. I think it has ignited a spark in me that I was afraid I had lost. It is strange how simple ideas can make or break your day.
So in my frenzy of sewing and starting a new collection... I also moved into have an entire line of my own custom printed fabrics. Although I do like many fabrics of other designers, I never felt enjoyment making items out of someone else's vision. But now I can make my own vision come to life and it feels wondrous! I hope everyone enjoys them too (I worked really hard on these babies).

Here is a quick peek into my messy studio space. It works for now, but hopefully soon I will move up stairs (out of the family room) and into my own space. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Cheers

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Mine was filled with studio time, lounging and some shopping. So in all it was a pretty relaxing weekend. Last week was my Birthday and so I had some extra monies from relatives and decided to make myself spend it on ME. What usually happens is I get money and spend it on my business or my Son (who at this time is spoiled beyond belief). So this Birthday I only bought stuff for myself, which was hard because I don't "need" anything.
My Achilles heal is the bookstore. I can not enter a bookstore without buying something. I have a book addiction of sorts. A couple of years ago My Husband and I had to part with some of our book collection and it broke my heart. Now we have tons of room and I feel my old book collecting ways creeping back!
Over the weekend we made a trip to Borders book store and I found some delightful reads! Stuffed magazine is a specialty magazine that only comes out ever so often. It is filled with amazing plushies and dolls by awesome artist! I also had to buy Craft magazine in honor of their last issue. Plus Amy Sedaris was on the cover and I adore her! Last but not least I found this awesomely funny and adorable book by Aranzi Aronzo. The book is called Aranzi Machine Gun vol.1. It is filled with super cute comic strips and crafty projects!

I leave you today with a peak at my messy and total in need of reorganization desk. I can't wait until my studio is finished. Oh I guess a girl can dream!
Remember to wear a scarf, its windy out there!
Cheers!

Lazy summer days...

It has been a lazy Tuesday around these parts. It is very humid and horrid! I hate when it is to hot to do anything. It really just puts a damper on your whole day. In non-lazy news I got to work a lot this weekend and yesterday! I have started to compile winter warmies for the shop :) I also an trying to get more of an inventory before the fall season. I kind of hate this time of year, the rush to get everything in order before the holidays. I like being able to create here and there and come up with new ideas at my own pace. I will post some new little sweets destine for their home in my shop :)

I have this strange ritual I do ..and I wondered if others do the same? I am not a knick-knacky person by any means, but I do have some shelf mates. The weird thing is a usually make vignette's of any little shelf items I have. Above is an example of a grouping on my bookshelf. I do it all the time! I think I have OCD!
But even though I have a place for everything in my little vignette's......my work desk always looks like this (see below)! I am one messy worker bee!

Well stay cool and make some frozen fresh fruit pops!
yum!

Hello..Hello!
I know it has been forever and a day since I had last written anything. I have been oh so busy and a wee bit stressed out! Lots of things are going on this month for the shop and my home life. Ahh where to start....
Well first I have some good but extremely stressful news. Ity-bity Bags and the Family are moving! The DH and I have finally made the big leap and purchased our first house. Now for the stressful part...PACKING! Ugh! I hate packing and have been putting it off day after day. We are suppose to be moving in Feb and I have yet to pack a single thing! So here in the picture below you can see what will soon be our Craftsman house!
The good part about moving is for once I will have a real studio space!! Below is a picture of my space now. This consist of a table jam packed with supplies sitting in my bedroom! Not so fun and organized. So soon I hope to have a nice tidy room all to my self! I can't wait!!!
Ok, in other news I have opened a 2nd shop. I know I know your saying didn't you open a 2nd shop already? Yes, I did. I think I may have ADD. I debated about which shop I shop keep on Etsy. Well I made the decision to shut down the wading pool shop. Why you ask? Well Most of that work was from my college days and I have not been painting figures in over 3 years. My Husband convinced me to start a shop with my little watercolor paintings of animals. I have been collecting a little stack of tiny watercolor paintings for over 2 years now. I just did not think they were good enough to sell. I enjoy them and I know my son enjoys them, but will other people? Well I guess I will find out! So with-out further ado here is
This is one of my first tiny watercolor of two owls!
Hoot & Toot! The shop is a little bare, but I want to take it slow. So I Hope you come and visit and tell me what you think!
