Jackpot.....
I hope everyone is getting ready for the 4th of July fun filled weekend! We are having a family get together at our home. So today will consist of cooking, cleaning, and some quiet time (down time before the impending ruckus). Because I live on a gigantic hill we can see the fireworks right in our backyard!
This week has been pretty stress filled and I can't wait for the weekend eating and laziness to begin.
(above) Yesterday I hit one of the local thrift shops and came across this loveliness! I had to give them a home right away! I have no idea what it is, maybe a toy of some kind. It is hand carved and from Canada. Its a fox and a bear sitting a log looking like they are about to eat! They are now sitting in my dining room window! Hurray for 2nd hand finds!
(Below) I also wanted to share my new fabric "Coffee break"! I designed it a while back, but decided to finally make it into fabric. I hurried and sewed up a pouch super quick I was so excited (now in the shop). I think it came out pretty cute :)

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Lovely finds....
I found this really wonderful set of vintage robin juice glasses at the local thrift store! I fell in love ass soon as I saw them. They are perfect! I kind of did one of those rush over, look around, can't believe someone hasn't swiped these up kind of weirdness. I thought these would be a lovely reminder of the robins nesting on our porch this past Spring. Now they sit all pretty in my cupboard waiting for my orange juice. I have already warned the other inhabitants of my home what will ensue if these are broken!
Well off I go with much work ahead of me this week. I hope to share some VERY exciting news with all of you soon!

Fabric dreams..
I think I have a fabric addiction. I like making my own fabric, finding vintage fabric and buying new fabric. I could spend hours at a fabric shop, and spend all of my money on fabric. Thank goodness I have never won the lottery (I don't even play) because I would probably buy so much fabric it would bury me. Spoonflower, the amazing site dedicated to artist designing their own fabric has been my down fall. Everyday I think of a new fabric design that I want to make!
I also enjoy the hunt for amazing vintage fabrics! I am lucky to live in a rural area with many hidden treasures. Auctions, thrift stores, rummage sales reveal a spender of objects once loved.
This brings me to my latest finds! I happened on a stash of vintage fabrics at my local thrift store. Score! I walked away with a bag full of fabric and some exciting ideas! I found light pink linen, dark pink cotton, and the pièce de résistance ...this rose print (above)! I love it! The mustard and dark pink roses are to die for! I can't wait to use it, but I am scared to cut into it!
Another score was this blue brown and mustard mod vintage print. It reminds me of a peacock feather! I also got 2 pieces of mustard and blue heavy weight canvas. can't wait to get started on some bags, pillows and what have yous.
Ok, I guess that is enough drooling over vintage fabrics for now. I am planning on going to a huge auction next week. Cross your fingers for me!

Happy hunting!

Treasure hunting!
I am always so excited when I find interesting things! Yesterday I went browsing at a local thrift store and I found some lovely treasures! First I found this cutey of a owl crocheted picture! I can't wait to re-frame him and hang him on the wall where he belongs :) I am so happy to give him a new home!
Hoot, Hoot!
I have a problem about seeing books get thrown away! It is so wasteful! Books are beautiful to me, the construction, the art work, the colors! So every chance I get I save some books! Here is just one of the books I saved! It is a lovely shade of yellow and a cloth bound book! The embossed artwork really caught my attention! I really think it is quite beautiful!

I guess I should really get back to work. I have errands to run, a kid to feed, and a house to clean!
Happy Thursday!
