Wow, it has been a crazy month!
Thanks to all the wonderful ity fans for all your support! It was a fun
and busy season, but I am glad I got to share it with everyone! I hope all
of you had a wonderful holiday. I got so many great gifts from Santa, I thought I
would share a couple with you!
Santa stashed in my stocking this oh so lovely Dot Dot Ring by Brooke Medlin of Gemmafactrix.
I have been visiting it for some time and am so please to now own it!
This painting "Emma and the Hornet god" by Opticwaste I have been swooning over!!!
I was so excited to find it snuggled under the tree! I can not wait to hang it somewhere special!! What a glorious Christmas!!!
I also got this sweet pair of delicate blue flower earrings from my favorite
earring designer jeweledMonkey .
I love all of her vintage inspired flavor that appears in every pair! So, I have to say I had a wonderful Christmas! It was lovely and quiet and stuffed full of yummy treats!

Hello my lovely little readers!
I have been pretty busy these last few weeks
and now finally I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
The shop is having a end of the year sale. I am trying to make room for
new little critters come 2008!
So do drop by and take a peek!

This is Bettie the bunny! She is new to shop and filled with hand-painted goodness! I have been working on bettie and other creatures for sometime now. I am trying new things in order to bring together my sewing and painting! She is a little clue to what new things maybe stopping by the shop next year!

Well I hope everyone is excited about the holidays! I know I am! Have a happy and wonderful Christmas my ity-bity friends!

Hello my Ity-bity folks!
Sorry for not updating the blog like I should. It has been busy around here
because of the holidays that are fast approaching!
Today I awoke to a icy wonderland outside my door! Seems that the north east has been
slammed by jack frost and more is a coming! So put on your gloves and grab some salt and away
we go!

I did get to some much needed sewing this weekend! I do have much more to do today, but one step at a time! Here are some squirrels that are new to my shop! They are having a fight over the last acorn! I think I made this pouch because of the squirrels I have been watching. I think someone forgot to tell them it is winter! Every morning they brave the cold and dig at the icy ground looking for food! Such silly little critters!

Hope everyone has a busy and fun filled week!

Stay cozy!

Tuesday, December 04, 2007

Hello my Ity Friends!
It is Tuesday and I am sorry if I haven't updated the blog in a couple of days!
Busy, busy, busy or at the shop! I am proud and honored to say I finally made it
to my 300th sale!!!! How exciting! I think I will make a extra special dinner for my
family tonight to celebrate this milestone! Thank you everyone for supporting my shop
and making this possible!
In other Ity news..it snowed! Again!
Here is a picture of my Son helping my darling husband shovel snow on Sunday
Morning! After, we went inside for some hot cocoa!! Yum!

I have also been hard at work in the studio sewing like crazy! I made
lots of new pouches (some already listed in shop) and Java Knickers! Below is the new scarf "the dreamy Fawn" which I have not listed yet, but she will be coming soon!
One more thing before I go...Remember to ask your local Post office
for some letters to Santa. Every year the PO gets loads of letters from
children writing to Santa. Answer one, and help make a child's wish come true!
Happy Tuesday and keep warm and cozy!

Hello everyone it is finally Thursday and I am so relieved!
It is been a busy and sleepy week here at the Ity house. With the holidays fast approaching and a 2 year old climbing Christmas trees...how could anyone have a minute to their selves! Today I must make some runs to the PO and then back home we go for a nice walk through the orange and yellow leaves.
Today I have decided to take a look at some darling Pin cushions! I have a special place in my heart for all pin cushions. I find it so interesting how beautiful something of utility was made by so many people. Above is a fabulous wool pin cushion by Bluebirdmountain. I love her use of clock pieces and vintage buttons! So simple yet elegant!
One of my favorite shops for pin cushions is RabbitsMoon! I love here whimsical use of color, fabrics and appliques. How cute is this little Peter Cottontailish bunny!

The last pin cushion is an antique pin cushion. I have no idea who made it..but it is beautiful! I adore the porcelain doll torsos that were incorporated in the design at the time. I imagine these huge hoop skirt pale ladies during Washington era making there wonderful gowns! But the question is always...How did they sew in those skirts?
Have a wonderful Thursday !

Happy Wednesday!

Well after a nice amount of sales on Monday I was pretty busy in the studio! I will have to get sewing again this weekend to catch up for the holidays!

In honor of this great article in the Storque on Etsy on bundling..I've decided to make a bundle just for you !

Here are my three little sweet mini pouches ready for the holidays! They will be listed in my shop later today!!! I think they are perfect as one gift or you could break them up, giving one to each friend!

"Man vs the beast"
This Pouch was made for my DH!
I thought it came out so wonderfully lovely that I submitted into the Sublime Stitching Holiday contest! Wish me luck my friends!

Happy Monday everyone!!!
Well today is cyber Monday and everyone is patiently waiting for the Christmas rush to begin. This is my first Christmas having a online shop...so I guess we will just have to see what surprises await!
I am sorry it has been a couple of days since my last post. After Thanksgiving it was pretty busy here on the home front. Meeting with family, cleaning up from family and getting into Christmas mode! I did get the chance to finally sew my little heart out and make some lovely new pouches for the shop!

I finally got a embroidery hoop! Now it will be so much easier to embroider cute little things! I had to test it out! So, I made this sweet veggie pouch with "veggie time" embroidered on the back!
I also made a Sunday morning breakfast pouch! ummm yummy! I absolutely adore breakfast food! I think I could eat home fries and french toast everyday of the year!
Well my sweetest friends I am off to promote, drink coffee and clean the house!
Have a warm and cozy Monday!

Happy Tuesday Ity friends!
It is pretty rainy and dark here on the home front. I don't mind the rain, but I hate when everything is dark and gray. Well this week has been picking up speed at the shop. I think once everyone gets turkey off the brain Etsy sellers are going to get swamped! I am pleased that many of my Christmas gifts will be from Etsy this year!
I think I am in love..............
I swoon over everything in this shop! The entire idea of it all is so beautiful! The colors chosen, the whimsical etchings, and now the felted animals! I wish I could fill my house with all the lovelies spilling from this shop!
This little golden girl holding a golden fox reminds me of little red riding hood!
A copy of her now resides in my home, just waiting to be framed!

Oh and don't get me started on this mouse!
I love him so! Maybe Santa will bring him to come live with me!
He is so life like I am just waiting for him to scamper away!

Two Brown Birds print reminds me of the wind in the willows
or a Jan Svankmajer film. I love the beautiful yet uneasy feeling from
many of the work found in this shop!
Oh how I'd liked to dream in the images of ohmycavalier!
Well I guess that is enough dreaming for today! Off I go to finish my morning chores on this rainy Tuesday!

Monday, November 19, 2007

Happy snowy Monday everyone!
Today we had the first snow fall of the season! It was beautiful watching those big fluffy flakes fall from the sky. Every year whenever I see snow fall for the first time..I still get that giddy little girl feeling!
I have some sweet little critter gals now available in my shop! This is a completely new edition to Ity-bity Bags. I have always made dolls and stuffed critters but I could never part with them. So with out further adieu I introduce Sophie and Alice! They are nestled in my shop right now! So go and take a peek!

Happy Friday
Thanks goodness Friday is finally here! This weeks has been so busy and full of fuss! Many orders to fill and chores to fulfill before the holidays arrive. This week in the shop I have added some new little lovely pouches for someone sweet! Above is the two little birds pouch. I love this pouch! It reminds me of the decorations that adorn the Amish barns.
I also made and will probably list today this cute little
kitten pouch! I usually don't make a lot of kitty bags, so this is a special addition. I love how he is so simple compared to some of my more funky pouches.
I think I can hear him purrring!
Oh I almost forgot! I added to the shop yesterday this ity-bity nest brooch! It was quite hard to make but it all came together in the end. I almost kept it for my very self, but new it should go to a new home to hatch!
Have a wonderful Friday my little acorns!

Hello out there in Ity world! Sorry I did not update yesterday, but it has been a busy couple of days. The shop had many orders to fulfill, but now I think finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Today I am feeling a bit under the weather ...so my post will be kind of short.
I am so excited that Thanksgiving is only a week away!!! As a family tradition we have Thanksgiving at the Grandparents house every year. I am in charge of making the pies (apple & pumpkin) and the roasted butternut squash! I can't wait to stuff myself silly and visit with family.
My head today is stuffed with unhappy sniffles..so I have decided to List a couple of great movies I just recently viewed!
Happy Wednesday!

Monday, November 12, 2007

Good morning all my little Ity's! I hope your weekend was filled with crackling fires and hot cocoa! The family and I took a trip to the mall this weekend...beyond crazy! It was packed with people shopping like crazed wolves. I could not believe it was already so packed with Christmas shoppers! My Husband and I walked around the mall twice and left with nothing. This is usually the case because we really only go to window shop and get out of the house.

I did get in some much needed sewing this weekend! I had many orders to fill and at first seemed overwhelmed with all that needed to be done. But I managed to get most of it finished and even fit in some play time. I will be adding some of my new creations through out the week to my shop.

Because this is the time for gift giving and to be thinking of others. I have decided to list some great organizations that are perfect to help out this holiday season!

Have a wonderful Monday my friends!

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for November 28, 2007 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m

How Exciting! Today the tree arrived safe and sound in front of Rockefeller center on the back of a flat bed truck from Connecticut!

Today I have decided to list a couple of my toys picks for all the Moms out there! I myself being a Mom am finding it very hard this year trying to decide what to buy for my son. With all the Toy recalls and the just plain ridiculous toys ( I have seen a couple) I have now more than ever started to lean towards handmade toys and or small company toy makers. So here are a couple of my favorites this year!

Thursday, November 08, 2007

Good morning Everyone!
Today is rather chilly and the smell of Winter is in the air! We got quite a bit of frost last night, and I don't think the plats enjoyed it. As I drank my cup of coffee and bid the hubby goodbye, I sat and watch out poor tree drop leaf after leaf. By the time I had finished some morning chores and remembered the tree...all the leaves had fallen. How sad for the little cold tree looking all helpless and naked!

So have you thought about Christmas / Holiday cards yet ? I hope so, because it is fast approaching that time of year! I love Christmas cards or any holiday card for that matter. I am very specific when it comes to picking which cards I will send. I tend to go with the more traditional card with a modern spin.

These cards are from Etsy seller EnfinLaVoila. I am so in love with all the cards in here shop! She demonstrates that perfect balance of modern and traditional card design. The price for these beauties is extremely reasonable and you would be supporting a handmade artist! And if you haven't notice I am favorable to reindeer this year!!
Happy Thursday♥

Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Yeah its the Wed! It already has been a long week and I can't wait until it is over! My son is finally better today, which gave me some much needed time in the studio. I have been sewing non-stop since Sunday and am finally feeling a little caught up.
I updated my shop today with some fresh items. Here is my new little Jelly friend, ready to keep your head warm and toasty! I think he is so sweet and full of color.

Also new in the shop are the Ity-Bity Gift Packs! I put together a few cute items that I think would make a great gift! These will only be available for a limited time. I don't plan on making bunches of these.
Well off I go to do some much needed house chores. Now that I think of it maybe I will bake a coffee cake too! Yum! Nothing is as good as fresh baked coffee cake and hot coffee! Have a wonderful Wednesday♥

Tuesday, November 06, 2007

Today is so cold and rainy! My son has a head cold and in all we are feeling pretty yucky! I wish I had a fireplace to sit in front of and have a nice hot cup of coffee and some cake!
Speaking of cake, I absolutely love Dancing Deers delectable cakes! Right now I am drooling over this Brandy soaked Harvest cake!!! I am definitely ordering some of these for Christmas gifts!! Soooo Yummy!

* Picture of wrapping available at Tilly Bloom

So it is getting to that time of year when shop owners

and gift givers are stumped on wrapping. With all the people as crafty as Martha Stewart it is hard to just wrap in news print with out feeling guilty. So I have decided to help a fellow out! I have search high and low and have compiled a list of some excellent sources of wrapping paraphernalia just for Ity-bity Pals.

Happy Wrapping!

Hello all my Ity friends! Well it is Sunday and I am pooped! I have been sewing no stop all day long and am very tired. The good news is I have made some adorable creations that I can't wait to share with you!

I already starting to feel the holiday excitement! The hussle and bustle of shoppers at the local stores and the crisp air in the morning. It is a tradition in our family to put up the Christmas decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving... I can hardly wait! I do have to admit I am a bit of a Christmas decoration addict. So in honor of my addiction I thought I might show you some adorable items I am dying to poses!

Yuck! What a rainy Friday! Well at least it is not sweltering outside. Anyway, I have been cruising the Internet looking for great places to find fabric. I hope some of these sites will inspire or help you with your fabric addiction!

Reprodepot has a pretty good assortment of whimsical and trendy fabrics. One of my favorite fabric shops is Purl Home. Their website is beautiful! The colors are a pale and perfect wonderland! Another shop where you can find cute kawaii and fast delivery is Superbuzzy. They have Japanese fabrics which are so impossible to find right now. Cia's Palette also has Japanese fabrics and designer fabrics like Heather Ross's cute little gnomes!
Well I hope I have helped you find some great shops to buy fabric. I truly have a fabric addiction, and I can't help myself!

I have been searching high and low for all that oh so cute Cram Cream and Decole items. Wow! I can't believe how hard it is to find some of this stuff! I see people all the time with cute kawaii fabrics, but it seems they are nearly impossible to find.

I love this sewing kit! I have to do all I can from keeping myself from buying it! (I am trying to save for x-mas gifts). Maybe if I hint around enough my hubby will buy it for me. Anyway to purchase this or many other adorable Decole items try Loloko. They have a wide selection of Decole.
Here are some more shops I have found that carry Decole:
SugarPineBeauty - They have a small collection of Decole items.

Atelier JADE - awesome collection of Decole and cute fabrics!

ReproDepot -They carry Cram Cream and also some very cute fabrics!

Glitterworkshop- They have a wide selection of Cram Cream and other deliciously cute items!
